About the role:  

At L3Harris Flight Data Services, we provide an outsourced Flight Data Monitoring service to aircraft operators worldwide. It is important to deliver insights to customers in a presentable and timely manner, enabling them to take action to reduce costs and improve safety to save lives. 

L3Harris Flight Data Services has the largest flight data monitoring platform in the world; the R&D team supports & develops capabilities and ad-hoc analysis for this platform. We care deeply about aviation safety; our work reflects our passion for this, and we expect the same from you. We work with customers to improve their safety operations with insights and analysis capability.

We are currently seeking a Business Analyst to work in a fast paced and demanding environment.  As a Business Analyst, you will responsible for working with Stake holders to ensure the design of product features and functionality meets expectations and covers technical challenges. We are looking for a candidate that has strong project management skills and cutting-edge technical know-how. This role demands that you have the ability and desire to work with a variety of functions and teams to find solutions and then you must be comfortable implementing those solutions. You must be flexible and dynamic and proactively communicate with, your co-workers, management, and customers alike.  Finally, you must excel in managing your own time and prioritizing multiple requests and demands, and you must thrive in an environment where you enjoy making contributions that positively impact the company’s success.

Day to day responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Developing new systems designs, writing systems specifications, performing system level tests
  • Assisting with cloud platform and application tests
  • Interfacing with customers, suppliers, and internal functional groups (product owners, sales, marketing, customer support, etc.)
  • Help maintain and develop Data Analytics engineering processes
  • Assistance in the design, test and maintenance of all Data Analytics products
  • Coordinates cross-process team issues both within and between teams 

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline 
  • Experienced must include writing systems requirements and systems validation procedures
  • Knowledge of AWS cloud offerings, components and security
  • Knowledge of flight data
  • Experience in implementing multi-platform applications linked to AWS cloud architecture

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Good interpersonal skills and is able to work with multiple teams and be able to work directly with Data Analytics customers
  • Demonstrate ability to take initiative to eliminate barriers and uses resources to ensure desired results
  • Ability to see the big picture and advocates integration of systems within work group
  • Use business knowledge to assist others in understanding business decision and their impact
  • Foster an environment that promotes creativity and innovation
  • Self-motivated with good communications skills
  • Able to work without appreciable management oversight and direction
