Role Purpose

Reporting to the Head of Region, the AOG Manager will have responsibility for supporting the delivery of global airframe component sales through the management of the AOG Sales team and the AOG Stores & Logistics team. The AOG Manager will ensure that both the AOG Sales and AOG Stores teams are delivering against respective KPI’s and are working collaboratively in unison to deliver optimum service.

Key Accountabilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Management and motivation of teams at all levels
  • Present and further identify (where required) departmental KPI’s for approval and subsequent measurement and management thereof.
  • Work on continuous improvement of procedures and processes within the department
  • Monitor staff performance, carry out regular 1 to 1’s and annual staff appraisals
  • Ensure all shifts are appropriately covered managing capacity and resource effectively
  • Participation in regular management, sales and stores meetings
  • Participation in the planning and preparation of the annual budget/Op Plan
  • Comprehensively understand all procedures required to support AOG Sales and AOG Stores & Logistics functions to support teams where required
  • Ensure AOG teams’ training is up to date, also ensuring that the latest communication from the wider business is absorbed and understood.
  • Maintain close liaison with the wider sales and stores teams to ensure optimum level of cooperation is achieved
  • Maintain close liaison with all other heads of departments
  • Project work and other duties as directed by Head of Region
  • Ensure consistent pricing strategy is applied appropriate to the product type and market     dynamics
  • Ensure that the AOG teams are aware of and are working to agreed individual and team performance targets
  • Communicate effectively and maintain professional relationships with vendors and customers
  • Negotiate purchase prices and payment terms
  • Periodic visits to key customers and trade shows
  • Will be required to join occasional out of hours shifts to monitor performance of teams out of hours (will entail some nights and weekend shifts)
  • All other duties as assigned

Skills & Experience

Education and/or Experience:

  • Educated to a minimum of GCSE standard in Mathematics and English.
  • Relevant experience in a AOG related role within the aerospace industry

Essential:

  • Experience in aircraft aftermarket sales environment
  • Previous management experience
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and responsibilities with competing priorities
  • A good level of account management and leadership experience
  • Ability to effectively manage Capacity and Resource planning
  • Strong customer service, communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, strong planning, organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work using own initiative
  • Able to work within a team of strong minded individuals in a fast-moving environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong oral and written communications
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels within the company
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills

Desirable:

  • Working knowledge of Quantum Inventory system
  • Holds existing customer relationships in region
  • Previous AOG shift experience
  • Previous Stores & Logistics experience
  • Previous Aviation Component Sales experience
  • Previous Aviation Component programme management experience
  • Forklift truck license
  • Hazardous Goods in transit certificate
