Senior Estimator

40 hours, Monday - Friday. Hybrid working available

As a Senior Estimator you will join a knowledgeable, forward-thinking team, where you will be constantly challenged. You'll play a key role in enhancing the airport's infrastructure and facilities with a focus on ensuring an integrated and consistent approach to estimating; embedding best practice throughout all programmes. Your role as a Senior Estimator, at one of the world's busiest airports, where no two days are the same because of the diverse range of projects you will be involved with, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and career with a professional and skilled team.

What is the role?

Reporting into the Lead Estimating Manager, you will play a key role in the Construction team, responsible for producing estimates during the early Concept Development and Optioneering stage of projects through to continually providing high quality estimates during the later stages of the project lifecycle prior to delivery.

Other duties include:

• Supporting the Lead Commercial Manager in updating best practice processes and procedures for estimating, benchmarking and targeting costs.
• Ensuring accuracy of estimates
• Managing the utilisation of cost management structures
• Developing and cultivating relationships with other airports and client organisations encouraging a community of shared data to establish a range of external benchmarks

What are we looking for?

The live environment at London Gatwick requires all our teams to have a flexible and adaptable approach, with problem solving skills and an innovative outlook. Involved in projects from inception to just prior to delivery, you will work on a range of projects alongside multiple stakeholders. In addition, this role requires:

• Previous experience as an Estimator on multi-year programmes/projects with a value typically in excess of £50m, in a similar industry
• Educated to Degree level or equivalent in relevant engineering, construction, or business-related field
• Experience of designing business processes for cost estimating (including the implementation of standardised Cost Breakdown Structures)
