Level 3 IT Solutions Technician Apprenticeship

Our exciting IT Solutions Technician role will develop your Desktop Support skills to become a confident, positive and flexible Support Technician with well-honed technical knowledge. The successful candidate will support the business; deliver solutions to deadlines and within budget on both information technology and operational technology systems.
The role will assist the support of the User estate and IT infrastructure covering around 1500 users in a multi network environment providing Desktop Support Services.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
Provide Desktop Support (1st line) to user calls, fed via the UK Service Desk / Activity Controllers to EUS staff. (Includes the resolution of incidents up to Priority One level and handling Service Requests from Laptop/Desktop builds to entire user IT relocation projects).
Build / rebuild and deployment of desktop / laptop machines in line with “Desktop-on-Demand” procedures and build standards using automated tools (SCCM) and manual processes as necessary.
Incident support and troubleshooting of any reported issues raised by a UK based service desk on behalf of users.
Support and deployment of Mobile Phone’s – iOS and Android
Support and cover the IS Kiosk based support solution to troubleshoot IT requests at a drop in centre based in Crawley giving the customer flexibility for the support provided.
Through our apprenticeship you’ll be making the most of your talents, getting to understand our IS functions from the ground up; and doing so with the help of one of the biggest and best names in the industry.
As an IT Apprentice you will be studying towards a Level 3 Solutions Technician Apprenticeship with our external partner Learn Tech. For the duration of this 15 month programme (plus 6 month end point assessment gateway) you will combine academic study with practical application, working within our IS team in Crawley.
The programme is delivered through a blend of weekly live virtual classrooms and regular mentoring sessions that are held on a one-to-one basis. You will then have the opportunity to apply what you have learnt straight back into the workplace. At the end of the programme you will have achieved a Level 3 IT Solutions Technician Apprenticeship qualification.

Who we’re looking for:
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are motivated, committed and keen to learn. A self-starter who is able to manage their time, show initiative and has a genuine interest in IT and Thales. Successful candidates will show self-discipline and an aspiration to achieve a Level 3 qualification.
You will also need:
- Candidates will need 5 GCSEs grade A-C (4-9) including English and Maths.
- Right to Work in the UK for the duration of the programme
Please note, assessment centres for shortlisted candidates will be held between February and May 2024. Induction week for all Graduate and Apprentices will run from Monday 2 September until Friday 6 September 2024.
