About us

Fermento Bakery is a small business started in September 2019, which makes it an established business in Forest Row. We are baking all our produces in a woodfired oven and milling our own flour for our sourdough bread. We responsibly source all our ingredients from local producers and mostly organic and biodynamic. The bakery is based in Tablehurst Farm and we are surrounded by the beautiful countryside of East Sussex.

We are looking for an experience baker with a minimum 2 years of baking background to join our small team. We need someone who has a great passion for good and healthy food, a good knowledge of sourdough is required.

We’re a small team who share multiple roles and responsibilities across the whole of the bakery production, the candidate will be involved in all the process of the bakery from milling high quality grains, mixing, shaping, baking with a woodfired oven and delivery to local shops.

In our bakery there are no night shifts, but yes early mornings 5-5:30am.

Working days are Monday to Saturday.

Driving licence required

Responsibilities:

  • Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes.
  • Prepare doughs for bread and other baked goods.
  • Monitor oven temperatures and baking times with a wood fired oven
  • Ensure that all baked goods meet quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Milling high quality grains.
  • Delivery to local shops

The candidate must have the right to live and work in UK

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.00-£14.00 per hour
