Lawn Technician / Operative

Location: East Sussex – Brighton, Ditchling, Lewes, Peacehaven, Seaford, Uckfield, Polegate & Hailsham areas

Salary: GBP25,000 – GBP29,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Hours of work: 8.30am – 4.30pm but variable through the year in accordance with daylight hours. Shorter days in the winter. Weekend overtime often available

The Role

They have a vacancy to join their small, friendly team at the Brighton & Lewes branch.

You will be responsible for treating customers lawns and providing expert advice to help their customers achieve the best lawn they can. Customer service is a key part of the role so you will be comfortable talking to customers and understand the importance of good communication. You will be solid, reliable and dependable.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working outdoors in all weathers and is comfortable working on their own for most of the time.

Main duties:

  • Deliver lawn care to a number of designated customers daily using a variety of equipment, including heavy machinery
  • Proactive identification of lawn issues and communication with the customer
  • Equipment maintenance
  • Maintain standards of all health and safety and sector regulatory practices, including thorough completion of paperwork

Skills & Experience

  • Great communication and customer care skills are essential as you will meet and speak with customers throughout the day
  • You will often work on your own, so you will be self–reliant, use your initiative and never be afraid to call a colleague if you don t know something
  • This is a physically demanding, outdoors job, which involves pushing and carrying equipment and walking around 5 miles a day. You will love being active and outdoors in all weathers.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Previous experience in lawn care and a PA1/PA6 licence would be an advantage but is not essential as full training will be given.
  • Lawn or turf experience: 1 year (Preferred)
