Do you want to promote the wellbeing of and support children, young people and families with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) by enabling them to take up disability benefits to which they are entitled? About the role

Parent carers and young people in Brighton & Hove and East Sussex can get help with claiming Disability Living Allowance (DLA) and Personal Independence Payment (PIP) from Amaze. We offer:

• online advice, fact sheets and targeted resources to help you make a claim
• regular Zoom workshops on claiming DLA or PIP
• targeted support to families facing extra challenges via our DLA and PIP Advice Service

You will have knowledge of the welfare benefits system and specifically disability benefits and have excellent organisational skills and interpersonal skills. The service is a busy one and you must be able to work calmly under pressure, juggling several tasks at one time and prioritising effectively. You will have highly developed written communication skills, including reading analytically, synthesising information, editing and proofreading, with a strong attention to detail. You will have experience of working with a broad range of people – including families, parents and or young people, ideally some with additional needs.
