The Role
As a Cable Assembler, you will be responsible for assembling cable and wiring equipment to drawings, ensuring work is completed to the highest standard and any build changes are clearly documented. You will work closely with production control and the wider cabling team to ensure smooth flow through production and timely completion of assemblies.

The Role
As a Cable Assembler, you will be responsible for assembling cable and wiring equipment to drawings, ensuring work is completed to the highest standard and any build changes are clearly documented. You will work closely with production control and the wider cabling team to ensure smooth flow through production and timely completion of assemblies.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble prototype and production cable assemblies accurately to engineering drawings.
- Record and highlight any modifications made during the build process to the Team Leader.
- Liaise with Production Control regarding incomplete kits.
- Crimp pins onto wires and fit connectors to drawing requirements.
- Lace cables using Kevlar or Nylon cord.
- Apply braid and heatshrink to cable looms.
- Verify cable dimensions using basic measuring equipment.
- Carry out continuity testing on all cables.
- Apply identification labels to cable assemblies.
- Support crimp pull-off testing.
- Fit and shrink connector environmental boots.
- Assist the cabling team with fitting and populating connectors.
- Solder wires into connectors where required.
Essential
- Proven experience in a similar cable assembly role.
- Ability to read and interpret technical wiring diagrams.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Experience working to MIL-STDs is preferred.
- Knowledge of IPC 620 and IPC 610 wiring standards.
- 37.5 hour working week
- Early finish on Fridays
- 28 days annual leave plus Christmas closure
