Capital Works Manager
We're looking for a Capital Works Manager to join our highways team based in Glastonbury, Somerset. In this role you'll take ownership of planning, programming and delivery of Capital Works schemes within the Somerset Highways Term Service Contract. A full driving licence is essential as you'll be traveling between offices, depots and sites across Somerset.
Location: Glastonbury, Somerset - regular travel to the office is required, with some flexibility for remote working. You will also need to visit offices, depots, and sites across Somerset.
Hours: Permanent full time 40 hours per week.

What will you be responsible for?As a Capital Works Manager, you'll coordinate scheme development, manage contractors and supply chain partners, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with client expectations.
- Leading the end to end planning and programming of Capital Works schemes with clear milestones and deliverables.
- Acting as a key point of contact for Somerset Council on structural scheme delivery.
- Managing supply chain partners to meet programme delivery, quality, cost and compliance requirements.
- Monitoring scheme budgets with accurate cost forecasting and commercial reporting.
- Promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring full compliance with CDM Regulations, SHEMS, traffic management standards and environmental requirements.
- Strong experience in scheme delivery within highways, civil engineering or infrastructure environments.
- Extensive experience in contractor and supply chain management.
- Proven ability in client liaison, stakeholder engagement and presenting to senior audiences.
- NRSWA (Supervisors) certification.
