
Caretaker
We are seeking to appoint a Caretaker to join a dedicated and supportive team within a residential special school environment. This Caretaker role is key to ensuring the site remains safe, secure, well-maintained, and welcoming for pupils, students, staff, and visitors.
As a Caretaker, you will support the Site Manager and play a vital role in the day-to-day upkeep of the premises.
About the Role - Caretaker
The successful Caretaker will be responsible for a wide range of duties including:
- General building maintenance and minor repairs
- Grounds maintenance and upkeep of outdoor areas
- Supporting health & safety compliance across the site
- Ensuring the premises are clean, safe, and in good working order
- Responding to maintenance issues promptly and effectively
- Working in line with policies, procedures, legislation, and best practice
- Supporting the smooth running of a busy residential school environment
This Caretaker position is dynamic and hands-on, ideal for someone with strong practical skills and a proactive approach.
About You - Caretaker
To be successful as a Caretaker, you will:
- Have experience in caretaking, maintenance, or a similar practical role
- Possess a broad range of building and grounds maintenance skills
- Have a good understanding of health and safety requirements
- Hold a valid full UK driving licence
- Be flexible to work various daytime shift patterns
- Be reliable, self-motivated, and able to work as part of a team

Salary range
- £24,796 - £25,583
