The Role

A fantastic opportunity to join our busy team as Despatch Supervisor. We are looking to a proactive and confident individual with previous experience in a similar, fast paced logistics environment. Reporting to the Despatch Manager, the Despatch Supervisor will ensure all warehouse operational tasks are completed and delivered in a proactive and confident individual to ensure all warehousing and operational tasks are completed and delivered in an accurate, efficient, timely and safe manner. Providing internal and external customers with a consistent, first class service. With excellent leadership and management capabilities, candidates will demonstrate flexible leadership, team spirit and operational cover when required within the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all customers' requirements are met on time and to specification
  • To ensure that Food Safety systems are always maintained
  • Manage and schedule the team of Despatch Operatives to cover seasonal needs of the department
  • Identify staff training requirements for Team Leaders and Operators and implement where necessary
  • Plan and co-ordinate despatch operations with the Production/Farm teams and the relevant hauliers
  • Reported any allocation issues and deal with as appropriate
  • Maintain accurate records of Load Plans, Delivery Notes, Scanner and MHE Start Up checks
  • Conduct weekly GMP audits and Behavioural Safety Tours once during each shift
  • Conduct audit of Safety Sampling audits and record as appropriate
  • Lead by example
  • Ensure adherence of staff to all trained SOPs and Risk Assessments and delivered TBT's
Required Skills & Experience
  • Able to communicate effectively in English to Level 2 or higher
  • IT literature to a high standard in the use of Microsoft Office package
  • Demonstrable experience of successfully working in a targeted environment
  • Experience of working in a FMCG / Fresh food environment
  • CIEH Manual Handling Level 2 (Preferred)
  • CIEH Food Safety Level 3 (Preferred)
  • HACCP Level 2 (Preferred)
  • IOSH Managing Safety
  • FLT/PPT Licence - desirable
  • Microsoft Office - Basic use
