We are currently recruiting an experienced Duct Fitter to join a busy mechanical installation team on a commercial project. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and fitting metal ductwork systems to a high standard, ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately, and in line with drawings and site requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Install galvanised metal ductwork (spiral, square/rectangular, circular) on site
- Read and work from mechanical drawings, schematics, and ductwork layouts
- Measure, cut, assemble, and fit ductwork sections accurately
- Fit associated components including:
- Fire dampers
- Volume control dampers
- Grilles and diffusers
- Access panels
- Flexible connections
- Use hand and power tools safely and correctly
- Ensure ductwork is level, aligned, supported, and installed to specification
- Work collaboratively with mates, supervisors, and other trades on site
- Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times
- Follow site H&S procedures and company standards
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Duct Fitter (metal ductwork)
- Ability to read and interpret HVAC/MEP drawings confidently
- Strong knowledge of ductwork installation methods and standards
- Competent using relevant tools and equipment
- Good attention to detail and high-quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Essential Qualifications / Tickets
- Valid CSCS card (Blue Skilled Worker preferred)
- IPAF / PASMA (beneficial but not essential)
- Own tools and PPE
Desirable
- Experience working on large commercial projects
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Heating & Ventilation / Ductwork (or equivalent)
- Previous experience working alongside duct mates and leading small teams
