Pay: £23.00-£25.00 per hour

Job Description:

This is a self-employed (CIS) role for a mobile Electrician, covering the South of England (including London) as far north as Norwich and as far west as Bristol. The position involves carrying out both reactive and quoted works across commercial properties such as restaurants, nurseries, and our contracted airports (listed below).

You will be issued a full access pass for each designated airport, which will require a complete DBS check and a requirement to share your detailed work history upon request. Our work also extends to transport hubs, including St Pancras Station and the Eurotunnel.

Most tasks carried out during daytime hours; however, occasional night shifts may be necessary.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified, time-served electrician with solid experience within however further training will be offered to the chosen candidate where updates arise within the electrical industry.

Duties

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in commercial, industrial and airport settings.
• Conduct inspections to identify electrical issues and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople to complete projects on time and within specifications.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used and time spent on tasks.
• Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with relevant health and safety standards.

Experience

• Proven experience as an Electrician or in a similar role is preferred.
• Proven experience in Inspection & Testing within both Domestic and a Commercial setting.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, documentation and safety protocols.
• Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools relevant to the trade.
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Requirements

• City & Guilds qualified Electrician (cards & certs will be audited prior to this role being offered). Minimum of Level 3, 18th edition, 2391 Inspection & Testing qualifications, and a good understanding of electrical certification (Required)
• Clean criminal record
• Full UK driving licence
• CSCS gold card/JIB card (or desire to carry this out).
• Ability to prove 5-year work history
• Competent to work alone as well as able to work well amongst a team
• IT literate (as work notes are recorded via a PDA app)

This role includes the provision of a sign-written van and fuel card, for use during working hours only. Please note, the vehicle will be equipped with a tracker and dashcam.
