We have a great opportunity for a hands on, (carpentry, engineering) practical person to join our Engineering Stores as an Engineering Stores Person, due to continuing increase in work.
Daily Tasks of the Engineering Stores Person
The Engineering Stores Person will pick large, heavy oil and gas engine kits from stores, driving the major part into a pre-built wooden crate, with a forklift, operating a slinging crane to lift the remaining components into place.
Utilising your hands on skills, to create custom pallets and platforms in the structure, with a chop saw and variety of screws, washers and bolts the components are to be secured by shackles into the crates, ready to ship to customers.
Once the packaging is complete, you will engrave and attach ID labels, take photographs to document each stage, upload to the company app and complete basic paperwork.
Although predominantly based in stores, the Engineering Stores Person will liaise with Purchasing to chase up parts and other departments is required.
On a daily basis, inspection of all equipment used is required to comply with H&S.
Skills & Experience
- Due to the nature of the work, this calls for someone who is physically fit
- Pro-active with a positive approach, willing to assist others
- Familiar with use of hand tools, engineering and carpentry
- Hands on, practical
- Ideally have a Forklift Licence
