Grounds Maintenance Operative

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance Operative based in Crawley. This is a full time permanent position working Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 4.30pm.

The pay rate is 12.71 per hour, with an immediate start available.

You will work across a range of sites including industrial, commercial, and private estates, maintaining outdoor spaces to a high standard. This role involves hands-on garden maintenance work and offers consistent hours within a structured working week.

This position is ideal for someone with grounds maintenance experience who enjoys outdoor work and takes pride in maintaining clean, well-presented environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general grounds maintenance across multiple sites
• Complete grass cutting, edging, and lawn care
• Undertake hedge cutting and trimming
• Carry out pruning of shrubs and small trees
• Weed beds, borders, and hard landscaped areas
• Carry out litter picking and general site tidying
• Support planting of seasonal bedding and shrubs
• Maintain high presentation standards across all sites
• Use horticultural tools and machinery safely
• Work as part of a team to complete daily tasks

Requirements

• Previous grounds maintenance or gardening experience preferred
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Reliable and punctual approach
• Good understanding of safe working practices
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
