Imagine you are at Roche.We're looking for a dynamic and strategic leader for the position of Head of Workplace, Environment & Sustainability (WES) to define and drive the strategy, performance, and continuous development of our sites and workplaces. This role is essential in shaping the future of our facilities and ensuring optimal safety, sustainability, and operational excellence. You will lead all aspects of facilities, Sustainability, Safety, Health & Environment (SHE), business continuity, and risk management. By fostering a culture of collaboration and customer-centric service, you will create an environment that anticipates future needs and enhances the employee and customer experience. The Opportunity Lead Strategy & Innovation: Define and drive the WES strategy in alignment with local and global ambitions. You will also participate in the International Real Estate/Facilities Management (RE/FM) portfolio and support corporate initiatives. Ensure Compliance & Risk Management: Oversee the risk management framework, including business continuity and local emergency plans. You'll ensure compliance with all local and global regulations and maintain necessary ISO registrations, such as Environment (14001), Health and Safety (45001), and Business Continuity (22301). Manage Operations & Maintenance: Plan and control repairs and maintenance to ensure high availability of site infrastructure. You will also implement Lifecycle Asset Management and define KPIs to measure success. Lead Your Team: Develop and lead a high-performing team by fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. You will also provide mentorship and support professional development. Engage Stakeholders: Drive close communication and collaboration with all site stakeholders, following a "customer first" principle. You'll advocate for Roche's position within external industry and government entities. Oversee Security & Safety: Develop, implement, and maintain security measures related to physical, personnel, and information security. Who are you We are looking for a leader who is passionate about sustainability, safety, and creating exceptional workplaces. Your profile should include: Technical Skills: You should have a strong understanding of diagnostics landscapes and experience in environmental, chemical, and product legislation, especially regarding the interaction between EU directives and UK law. A solid grasp of the technical aspects of facilities management, including building systems, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing is also critical. Experience in energy management, project management, vendor management, and budget management is required. Leadership & Behavioral Qualities: You must be a strategic thinker with proven experience leading a diverse team and driving a culture of accountability. You should be an active listener who fosters collaborative problem-solving, trusting and empowering your team to take ownership. We need a leader who is objective-driven, adaptable, and has strong communication, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills. Qualifications & Experience: A university degree, preferably an Upper Second-Class degree (or equivalent), is required. A NEBOSH Diploma in Environmental Management or Health and Safety is highly preferred, as is an Advanced IWFM qualification or comparable certification. You should have a proven track record of leading large projects in facilities and SHE, managing budgets, and driving innovation.You will be instrumental in a high-performing organisation that values excellence, learning, and accountability.
