H&S Advisor / Site Inspector - Highways & Infrastructure
An opportunity has arisen for a skilled H&S Advisor / Site Inspector to join a well-established highways and infrastructure contractor, where you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing an already exceptional safety culture.
You will be joining a business that has achieved zero RIDDOR incidents and zero LTIs over the past three years - and you will be instrumental in ensuring those standards are not only upheld, but continuously improved as the company grows.
Working closely with delivery teams on live sites, you will be doing far more than monitoring compliance. You will be actively improving working environments, influencing behaviours, and recognising high standards across highways and construction operations.
The organisation has over 60 years of continuous operation, built on consistent delivery, strict standards compliance, and long-standing relationships across the South East. Their ethos is simple: doing the job properly - safely, compliantly, and with full control over how work is delivered on site.
In this H&S Advisor / Site Inspector role, you will be:
Carrying out site inspections across highways and construction projects
Supporting teams to improve safety performance and working conditions
Leading investigations, producing reports, and identifying root causes
Challenging unsafe behaviours and influencing positive change on site
Ensuring compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental standards
Working collaboratively with operational teams to embed best practice
To be successful as a H&S Advisor / Site Inspector, you will have:
NEBOSH General Certificate (essential)
Experience within highways, construction, or civil engineering environments
Strong communication skills with the confidence to challenge and influence
A practical, solutions-focused approach to risk management
Experience in inspections, reporting, and incident investigations
A full UK driving licence
In return, you will receive:
Competitive salary dependent on experience
Exposure to major highways and infrastructure projects delivered to National Highways standards
Funded support to progress to NEBOSH Diploma
Flexible working options (full-time, part-time, or freelance)
Company vehicle (where applicable)
Health plan and pension scheme
Flexible working arrangements, including half-day Fridays paid in full
This H&S Advisor / Site Inspector role offers genuine influence over how work is delivered on site, giving you the opportunity to shape safety culture within a growing and respected organisation.
If this H&S Advisor / Site Inspector position aligns with your experience, please submit your CV or get in touch for more information.
