TeamJobs are seeking an Part Time Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator to join our manufacturing site in Eastbourne. This is an excellent opportunity for an EHS professional with experience in environmental and occupational health and safety management systems to support compliance, continuous improvement, and operational safety across the facility.

The successful candidate will assist in implementing and maintaining company policies and procedures that ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety legislation while supporting a safe and sustainable working environment.

Part time: 21 hours per week, ideally working 3 x 7 hour days, offering some flexibility over which days worked. The contract is until the end of December 2026; with the possiblity to extend.



Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain company EHS policies in accordance with local, national, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support compliance with environmental, health, and safety legislation and standards.
  • Assist with the maintenance and continuous improvement of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
  • Develop, review, and update EHS procedures, work instructions, and policy manuals.
  • Participate in risk assessments, workplace inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Provide EHS recommendations relating to facilities, work areas, processes, and procedures.
  • Monitor changes in environmental, health, and safety legislation and communicate impacts to the business.
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies and support audits, inspections, and compliance activities.
  • Maintain EHS records, reports, and documentation.
  • Support employee awareness and training initiatives relating to health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Assist site management in driving a positive safety culture and continuous improvement initiatives.


Essential Requirements

  • Experience working within Environmental, Health & Safety functions in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management systems.
  • IOSH Managing Safely certification (minimum requirement).
  • Experience writing and maintaining procedures, processes, and policy documentation.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while following established procedures and guidance.


Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting regulatory audits and inspections.
  • Additional EHS qualifications such as NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience within engineering, manufacturing, or process industries.

Full BPSS Screening ( Baseline Personnel Security Standard), including proof of Legal Right to Work, Criminal Records Check, i.e. UK DBS and Drugs Screening.
