This role takes an office first hybrid approach here at London Gatwick, with three days a week in the office, two days remote, managed around the needs of the business.

What is the role?

This role is to promote and raise the profile of Internal Communications and events team; create, deliver and evolve the internal communications and events strategy, ensuring employees across the business are informed and engaged.

Strong stakeholder management required across the business including leading on Executive and SLT communications as a trusted communications advisor.

Own the content strategy, distilling complex information into clear, relatable messaging, ensuring there is a consistent overarching narrative. Own the internal channels and measurement strategy to ensure channels are fit for purpose with data to demonstrate performance and engagement.

Strong experience directing on and organising events. A key aspect is managing and developing a range of digital, print and face-to-face internal communications channels.

What will you do?

  • Create, deliver and evolve the internal communications and events strategy which is directly aligned with London Gatwick's business strategy to ensure maximum reach and engagement across all London Gatwick work groups
  • Own the internal channels strategy to develop, deliver and manage a range of effective internal communications channels, with consistent measurement. Report on reach of communications channels and impact of corporate campaigns, acting on data
  • Work directly with Exec and senior team to create narrative and ensure a regular rhythm of meaningful communications and events to the business and their teams, acting as a trusted communications coach, offering constructive challenge and advice
  • Create, deliver and evolve the internal content strategy, ensuring a consistent message house throughout the year which aligns and complements wider media, public affairs and corporate communications messaging
  • Manage an Internal Communications and Events Executive and lead a virtual team of communications ambassadors who support corporate IC
  • Manage budget and external suppliers where required to support with execution of internal communications strategy.
  • High level of competency across the Microsoft suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

Do you have what we're looking for?

  • Degree level education desirable, not essential
  • Extensive communications experience directing internal communications and events, ideally in a fast moving, operational environment
  • Strong experience building trusting relationships with stakeholders across the business including the Chief Executive and Senior Leadership Team
  • Excellent writing skills that include translating complex technical language into meaningful ‘everyday' speak
  • Extensive experience in relationship management and interpersonal communications skills including active listening, assertiveness, flexibility and influencing e.g. with internal stakeholders and senior managers in the business
  • Line management experience required
  • Strong experience managing, measuring and evolving internal communications channels
  • Experience in delivering internal campaigns
  • Strong knowledge of internal communication best practice
  • Effective management of budgets and suppliers
