Prospero Teaching are excited to offer two part-time Learning Mentor roles (10 hours per week each) in Horsham, supporting young people to re-engage with mainstream education and build confidence, self-esteem, and positive adult relationships.
Role details:
- Hours: 10 hours per week per role (apply for one or both!)
- Schedule: Flexible timings, Monday to Friday within school hours.
- Location: Horsham
About you:
- Education professionals with experience working with learners with SEN and SEMH needs.
- Ability to adapt tasks, activities, and learning to meet individual needs.
- Passion for helping secondary-aged students (specific ages to be confirmed) with EHCPs achieve their potential.
As a Learning Mentor, you will:
- Support young people in re-engaging with mainstream education and developing essential life skills.
- Help learners build confidence, self-esteem, and positive relationships with adults.
- Adapt tasks, activities, and learning approaches to meet individual needs, ensuring inclusivity and progress.
- Work closely with students who have EHCPs and SEN/SEMH needs, providing tailored support.
- Foster a safe, encouraging environment that promotes personal growth and academic success.

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people
- Experience of working with learners with SEN
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
- Hold right to work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide references upon request
- Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
