Maintenance Engineer (Early Shift)

Midhurst Area

Monday to Friday Early Shift (6:00am to 3:00pm)

Permanent Position

Up to £45,000 + Excellent Benefits

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a successful manufacturing business. Working as part of a skilled engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving a range of industrial machinery and site services.

This role offers a varied workload with opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement projects, equipment upgrades, and the installation and commissioning of new machinery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and implement effective repairs.
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns, minimising downtime and disruption to production.
  • Support machinery installations, upgrades, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Analyse equipment failures and identify root causes to improve reliability.
  • Monitor machine performance and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Work closely with production and technical teams to support operational performance.
  • Assist with spare parts management and maintenance inventory control.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Previous experience in industrial machinery maintenance.
  • Strong electrical fault-finding skills.
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

  • Electrical qualifications such as 18th Edition (Essential)
  • Refrigeration or F-Gas experience.
  • Facilities or building maintenance experience.
  • Welding experience (MIG/MMA).
  • IPAF or Forklift qualifications.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
  • Food manufacturing experience.
