Full time

Summary:

We are looking for a Maintenance Planner to join South East Water in a role that is vital to the success of our Preventative Maintenance strategy.

In this position, you will drive improvements in asset reliability and availability by managing our Work Management process.

Your primary responsibility will be to efficiently plan all non-emergency work orders, including corrective, preventative, and predictive tasks, ensuring they are fully prepared for smooth execution.

As we roll out our strategy, you will also temporarily handle scheduling tasks from the preventative maintenance work bank directly to our planned maintenance field technicians.

This scheduling responsibility will transition over to the broader Work Management team once our current improvement project is fully implemented, allowing you to focus on long-term planning and asset optimisation.

***Please note, though hybrid, initial training will require you to be in the office/on site***

Main responsibilities:

  • Assess work order information to ensure relevant work order identification information has been provided to enable maintenance planning to commence.
  • Work with stakeholders (operations) to collect missing information and upskill individuals to ensure all applicable work order information has been collected during the identification phase.
  • Undertake planning scoping activities either via desktop or site visits of non-emergency work orders to identify all planning requirements (e.g. spares required, scaffold install, safety requirements) to fully execute and complete the work order.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards and industry guidelines in all maintenance operations, prioritising the health and safety of personnel.
  • Develop detailed maintenance job plans within Maximo based on scoping assessment.
  • Resolve all identified planning requirements for all non-emergency work orders and update work order with applicable details (e.g. order and install scaffold and update Maximo that scaffold installed).
  • Ensure that the latest information on all planning requirements and work order status are continually updated to ensure effective and efficient flow of work through the Work Management process.
  • Once the strategy has progressed to a point of having a Maintenance Scheduler, the role will work collaboratively with the Maintenance Scheduler to ensure effective schedules are created and meet the requirements of stakeholders. Constant communication will be required between these two roles.
  • Work with operational colleagues to gain financial approval to progress work orders to completion.
  • Input into continuous improvement activities to ensure the maintenance planning process is effective and efficient to deliver the organisational goals.

You'll need:
Skills / Qualifications / Experience

  • C&G or a relevant maintenance technical qualification (preferably mechanical), preferably trained through a recognised apprenticeship scheme.
  • Self motivated and organised.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management software (e.g. CMMS, EAM) for work order management, update, and tracking.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple work orders simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and interface with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong technical knowledge of water treatment processes and equipment maintenance practices.
  • Organising workload with competing priorities.
  • Procurement of parts, materials, access equipment and contract services required to undertake maintenance activities.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards to ensure all maintenance activities are performed safely.
  • Maintenance planning qualification desirable
  • Previous maintenance planning experience.
