Worldwide Education, the UK's number one supply agency, is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and motivated Nursery Deputy Manager to lead and inspire a vibrant preschool Nursery setting in Hove (BN1).


As Nursery Deputy Manager, you will be responsible for delivering and maintaining a high standard of learning, development, and care for children aged 0-5 years. You will manage day-to-day operations, lead the nursery team, and ensure a safe, stimulating environment that meets Ofsted requirements and supports children's growth and wellbeing.

Payment for the Nursery Deputy Manager Role:
Our client is offering a very competitive salary, ranging from 27,000 or above per year, depending on qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overall day-to-day management of the nursery, ensuring smooth and efficient running
  • Deliver a high-quality Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum that promotes individual progress
  • Ensure the nursery environment is safe, caring, and stimulating indoors and outdoors
  • Manage, supervise, and support nursery staff, including conducting appraisals and identifying training needs
  • Undertake and assign designated officer roles (DSL, SENCO)
  • Work closely with parents/carers and local professionals to support children's development
  • Promote and maintain strong parent partnerships, including organising events
  • Lead the nursery's marketing efforts to meet occupancy targets and maintain a positive local reputation
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, Children's Act, Health and Safety legislation, Ofsted regulations, and national standards
  • Maintain accurate records and oversee all administrative duties
  • Support the Directors in driving continuous improvement and preparing for outstanding Ofsted inspections
  • Organise and participate in staff training sessions and meetings

Requirements

  • Passionate about delivering excellent early years education and care
  • Proven experience managing a nursery or early years setting
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with children, parents, and staff
  • Full and relevant childcare qualifications (management qualification preferred)
  • Knowledge of EYFS and Ofsted requirements
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)
  • Level 3 Childcare Qualification or Above
