My client is seeking an Operations Officer to join their team on a permanent basis. In this role, you will support the smooth and efficient day-to-day running of the operations department. You will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, including booking and planning flights. The Operations team must be flexible and adaptable, consistently demonstrating a proactive, helpful, and can-do attitude when working with clients, suppliers, and internal departments.

Contract: Permanent, 12-hour Shift
Location: West Sussex

Responsibilities: -

  • Providing 24/7 cover for all operational directions and queries
  • Fully understanding mission requirements and setting up flights as required
  • Ensuring the optimum use of resources (aircraft and crews) within the crew duty and maintenance limitations
  • Coordinating and confirming flights with the operator and relevant parties such as handling agents, fuellers, customs and immigration, etc
  • Applying for landing and overflight permissions
  • Monitor the progress of flights and ensure the customer is kept up to date in a timely manner
  • Identify potential resolutions/recovery plans when required
  • Identify situations where escalation to line managers is appropriate
  • Implementing recovery plans in the event of delays, AOG's etc
  • Accurately complete company flight logs and post flight data
  • Effectively contributing to procedures and other documents
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues in Commercial and Customer Service teams to solve complex flight problems and find solutions
  • Other reasonable work-related requests as directed by the Line Manager.


Knowledge & Skills

  • Previous experience in the aviation sector or an Aviation degree/qualification
  • A passion for both aviation and service delivery to ensure a positive customer experience
  • A can-do attitude with a keen willingness to learn and develop
  • An efficient and organised personality
  • A meticulous eye for detail to ensure the highest levels of accuracy
  • Good understanding of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Hours of work - 07:00 -19:00 / 19:00 - 07:00 - 2days, 2 days off, 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off
