Part Time Bookkeeper
Our clients are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial transactions and ensure accurate and up-to-date financial records. The ideal candidate is highly organized, reliable, and skilled in accounting software and spreadsheets. This role plays a key part in the financial success, maintaining accurate ledgers and assisting with financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Record and categorise all day-to-day financial transactions (income, expenses, bank deposits, etc.)
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card and petty cash on a regular basis
• Maintain purchase and sales ledgers, process invoices, and manage supplier payments.
• Prepare VAT returns in line with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements
• Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual management reports
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards
• Prepare documentation for accounts and tax filings
• Support payroll processing and post payroll journals if required
• Maintain organized financial records and filing systems (digital and/or physical)
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, TaxCalc)
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications:
• Associate s or Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• AAT Qualified, or equivalent book-keeping certification.
• Experience working within practice
• Knowledge of payroll and/or sales tax filings. VAT
