Fabricator Plastics (Permanent Role)
Location: Horsham
Hours: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, 08 30 (30-minute break)
We are recruiting an experienced Fabricator to join a well-established manufacturing team. This role involves hands-on fabrication, assembly and finishing of plastic components used across a range of engineered products. Ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, values precision and takes pride in producing high-quality items.
Key Responsibilities
Fabrication & Assembly
- Carry out hands-on fabrication as part of the production team.
- Fabricate, assemble, rework and repair plastic products using hand tools, power tools and machinery.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and work orders.
- Mark out, cut and shape materials such as sheet plastics and fibreglass.
- Operate equipment including presses, forming machines and cutting tools.
- Trim, drill, countersink, grind and finish components to specification.
- Verify dimensions using micrometers, calipers and other precision instruments.
- Fit and assemble parts and hardware using jigs, fixtures and fasteners.
- Apply adhesives, tapes and foams for bonding processes.
- Repair or rework defective parts using various fabrication techniques.
Quality Control
- Ensure all work meets required quality standards.
Teamwork
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the fabrication team.
- Assist with wider production tasks when needed.
Health & Safety
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures and working practices.
- Comply with current risk assessments and method statements.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in plastic process vessel fabrication or similar plastic-fabrication environments.
- Full driving licence (advantageous for occasional off-site work).
- Forklift licence desirable but not essential.
- Strong understanding of technical standards and fabrication codes.
- Confident decision-making, especially regarding safety and engineering risks.
- Good organisational, planning and time-management skills.
- Reliable, constructive team player with good communication and integrity.
- Numerate and able to interpret technical documentation.

Salary range
- £30,000 - £33,000
