Fabricator Plastics (Permanent Role)

Location: Horsham
Hours: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, 08 30 (30-minute break)

We are recruiting an experienced Fabricator to join a well-established manufacturing team. This role involves hands-on fabrication, assembly and finishing of plastic components used across a range of engineered products. Ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, values precision and takes pride in producing high-quality items.

Key Responsibilities

Fabrication & Assembly

  • Carry out hands-on fabrication as part of the production team.
  • Fabricate, assemble, rework and repair plastic products using hand tools, power tools and machinery.
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and work orders.
  • Mark out, cut and shape materials such as sheet plastics and fibreglass.
  • Operate equipment including presses, forming machines and cutting tools.
  • Trim, drill, countersink, grind and finish components to specification.
  • Verify dimensions using micrometers, calipers and other precision instruments.
  • Fit and assemble parts and hardware using jigs, fixtures and fasteners.
  • Apply adhesives, tapes and foams for bonding processes.
  • Repair or rework defective parts using various fabrication techniques.

Quality Control

  • Ensure all work meets required quality standards.

Teamwork

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the fabrication team.
  • Assist with wider production tasks when needed.

Health & Safety

  • Follow all Health & Safety procedures and working practices.
  • Comply with current risk assessments and method statements.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in plastic process vessel fabrication or similar plastic-fabrication environments.
  • Full driving licence (advantageous for occasional off-site work).
  • Forklift licence desirable but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of technical standards and fabrication codes.
  • Confident decision-making, especially regarding safety and engineering risks.
  • Good organisational, planning and time-management skills.
  • Reliable, constructive team player with good communication and integrity.
  • Numerate and able to interpret technical documentation.

Salary range
