Prep & Cleaner
Location: Hailsham, East Sussex
We are recruiting a Prep & Cleaner on behalf of our client, an expanding engineering and manufacturing company operating from bright, modern facilities. This is a hands-on role supporting high-quality production standards within a clean, safety-focused environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, cleaning and inspecting components and assemblies to ultra-high vacuum (UHV) standards, ensuring all parts meet strict quality and cleanliness requirements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, cleaning and inspecting components and assemblies to ultra-high vacuum (UHV) standards, ensuring all parts meet strict quality and cleanliness requirements.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Cleaning, visual inspection, packaging and labelling of piece parts, sub-assemblies and final assemblies to UHV standards
- Carrying out leak checks on chambers
- Bead blasting to remove surface deposits and achieve high-quality finished components
- Identifying and reporting any faults or non-conformances
- Meeting internal and external customer deadlines without compromising quality
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and professional work environment
- Adhering to all Health, Safety and Environmental policies
- Undertaking additional duties as required to support the wider business
- Understanding of UHV cleaning standards
- Experience working with hazardous chemicals and awareness of associated safety requirements
- Ability to read and follow work instructions accurately
- Experience cleaning components using abrasive materials and chemicals
- Strong focus on quality while working to deadlines
- Understanding the importance of on-time delivery
- Relevant health and safety training
- Previous bead blasting experience would be advantageous
- Motivated and enthusiastic with a positive attitude
- Able to work effectively as part of a team
- Good listener who follows instructions carefully
