Description
- Manage the tax compliance process for a portfolio of private clients, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
- Provide tailored tax planning and advisory services to meet client needs.
- Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns and related documentation.
- Advise clients on inheritance tax, capital gains tax, and income tax matters.
- Trust tax returns.
- Identify tax-saving opportunities and offer strategic solutions.
- Liaise with HMRC and other external stakeholders as required.
- HMRC investigations.
- Support junior team members, providing guidance and training as necessary.
- Contribute to the growth of the tax department by identifying new business opportunities.
Profile
A successful Private Client Tax Manager should have:
- Professional qualifications in tax or accountancy, such as CTA, ACA, or ACCA or be qualified by experience.
- Strong knowledge of UK tax laws and regulations.
- Proven experience in private client tax compliance and advisory work.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage a portfolio of clients effectively and build strong relationships.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Confidence in liaising with clients and external bodies, such as HMRC.
- Ability to supervise and mentor junior team members.
- Experience of trust returns.
