Job Overview
We are recruiting for two contract opportunities in Brighton for experienced Quality Engineers / Supplier Quality Engineers to support a leading organisation within the aerospace and defence sector. These roles will focus on operational and supplier quality activities across key programmes, supporting compliance, non-conformance reduction, supplier performance, audits, corrective actions and First Article activity.
Key Responsibilities
You will support operational and supplier quality assurance activities across a range of programmes, working closely with internal teams and external suppliers to identify and resolve quality issues. The role will involve investigating non-conformances, supporting root cause analysis, driving corrective and preventive actions, and helping to improve quality performance across both internal operations and the supply chain.
You will also be involved in supplier and process audits, MRB support, trend analysis, quality planning, First Article Inspection activity, and reviewing quality documentation including concessions, traceability, work instructions and related records. The role will require close liaison with programme, manufacturing and supplier teams to ensure quality standards are maintained and improved.
Candidate Requirements
Applicants should have previous experience in a Quality Engineer or Supplier Quality Engineer role, ideally within aerospace, defence, automotive or another highly regulated manufacturing environment. A strong working knowledge of AS9100, ISO9001, non-conformance management, corrective action and root cause analysis is required.
Experience with AS9102 and First Article Inspection is essential. Candidates should also be confident working with suppliers, carrying out audits, analysing trends, and supporting continuous improvement activities within a manufacturing environment.
Desirable Experience
Experience with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Lean, Six Sigma, supplier development, and mechanical, electrical or electronic manufacturing would be beneficial.
Additional Information
This is an initial 3-month contract based in Brighton, with the potential to extend. Some travel may be required depending on programme and supplier needs. The role may also be subject to pre-employment checks and security vetting requirements.
