Role Overview
We are seeking a friendly, professional, and organised Receptionist to be the first point of contact for our business in Brighton. This role is essential in creating a positive and welcoming experience for visitors, clients, and staff, while ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of front-of-house operations.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a confident telephone manner, and a proactive approach to administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Front-of-House Duties
- Greet visitors and clients in a professional and welcoming manner
- Manage the reception area, ensuring it is tidy and presentable at all times
- Handle incoming calls, transferring them to the appropriate departments
Administration & Support
- Manage incoming and outgoing post and deliveries
- Maintain visitor logs and security procedures
- Provide general administrative support to the wider team
Scheduling & Coordination
- Book meeting rooms and manage office calendars
- Coordinate refreshments and setup for meetings where required
- Assist with internal events or office activities
Communication
- Act as a key point of contact for enquiries via phone, email, and in person
- Ensure messages are accurately recorded and passed on promptly
- Liaise with internal teams and external visitors
Office Support
- Monitor office supplies and place orders when needed
- Support the Office Manager with general day-to-day operations
- Assist with onboarding of new starters (e.g. access passes, desk setup)
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience in a receptionist, front-of-house, or customer-facing role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
- Professional and friendly manner
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
Desirable
- Experience in a corporate or office environment
- Familiarity with switchboard or phone systems
- Experience supporting administrative or office management tasks
