Role Overview

We are seeking a friendly, professional, and organised Receptionist to be the first point of contact for our business in Brighton. This role is essential in creating a positive and welcoming experience for visitors, clients, and staff, while ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of front-of-house operations.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a confident telephone manner, and a proactive approach to administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Front-of-House Duties

  • Greet visitors and clients in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Manage the reception area, ensuring it is tidy and presentable at all times
  • Handle incoming calls, transferring them to the appropriate departments

Administration & Support

  • Manage incoming and outgoing post and deliveries
  • Maintain visitor logs and security procedures
  • Provide general administrative support to the wider team

Scheduling & Coordination

  • Book meeting rooms and manage office calendars
  • Coordinate refreshments and setup for meetings where required
  • Assist with internal events or office activities

Communication

  • Act as a key point of contact for enquiries via phone, email, and in person
  • Ensure messages are accurately recorded and passed on promptly
  • Liaise with internal teams and external visitors

Office Support

  • Monitor office supplies and place orders when needed
  • Support the Office Manager with general day-to-day operations
  • Assist with onboarding of new starters (e.g. access passes, desk setup)

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience in a receptionist, front-of-house, or customer-facing role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
  • Professional and friendly manner
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office

Desirable

  • Experience in a corporate or office environment
  • Familiarity with switchboard or phone systems
  • Experience supporting administrative or office management tasks
