We are recruiting a Resident Engineer (Electrical Bias) to work on a healthcare contract in Brighton, for a well-established UK facilities management provider. This is a permanent, site-based role offering long-term stability within a highly regulated and essential services environment.
The Role
As the Resident Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day electrical maintenance and operation of building services within a live healthcare setting. The role requires a proactive, safety-focused engineer who can work independently while supporting site compliance and continuity of service.
Shift Pattern
- Equal time rota: 2 / 3 / 2
- Annual Leave: 20 days per year
Key Responsibilities
- Planned and reactive electrical maintenance across the site
- Fault-finding and repair of electrical systems and associated plant
- Ensure compliance with healthcare, statutory, and health & safety regulations
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and technical documentation
- Liaise with site management and specialist contractors
- Support a safe and reliable environment for patients, staff, and visitors
About You
- Recognised electrical qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ or equivalent
- Previous experience in a healthcare or critical environment preferred
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Professional, reliable, and able to work independently on site
- Good understanding of compliance and safe systems of work
