Seasonal Berthing Officer

Salary £14.18- £14.63 per hr (depending on experience) Employment Part-Time, Weekends (April- October)

Chichester Harbour Conservancy have opportunities to join our Patrol team for the 2026 season in the role of Berthing Officer. You will need to be available for weekends from April to October.

You will be the Chichester Harbour Conservancy representative on the hard and on the jetty at Itchenor, with a range of duties including:

• Collecting harbour dues and visitor berthing fees.
• Issuing and checking harbour plaques.
• Providing advice and assistance to boat owners and members of the general public.
• Assisting vessels and tenders using the Itchenor jetty.
• Responding to VHF radio calls.
• Assist Patrol Officers with preparation of harbour craft.
• Understudy Patrol Officers whilst undertaking patrol and other duties.
• Accompany members of the patrol team on outreach events around the harbour.

We are looking for enthusiastic, proactive, team players with a good knowledge of boating and an interest in Chichester Harbour. The successful candidates will have customer service experience and be friendly and confident talking to members of the public.

Essential qualifications include RYA Level II Power Boating certificate, RYA VHF Radio Operators Licence and a current First Aid Certificate.
