Full Time September 2026 Start Academic Year Contract

Academics are currently recruiting for a Full-Time SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive Special School in Burgess Hill for the 2026/27 academic year.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and moderate to severe learning difficulties. You'll play a key role in supporting pupils both in the classroom and through individual interventions, helping them to develop academically, socially, and emotionally.



The Role:

  • Full-time position for the 2026/27 academic year
  • Based within a specialist SEN school in Burgess Hill
  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Encouraging engagement, independence, and confidence
  • Working closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver outstanding care and education


We're Looking For:

  • At least 6 months' experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs
  • A caring, patient, and resilient approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK
