About the Role
You will provide tailored tuition to students who may have additional needs, including:
- SEN (Special Educational Needs)
- SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health)
- Trauma
- At risk of PEX (Permanent Exclusion)
Your sessions will focus on building confidence, improving engagement, and supporting academic progress.
As a Tutor, You Will:
- Deliver personalised learning plans to meet individual needs
- Work 1:1 or in small groups, adapting strategies for complex requirements
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional well-being
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
As a Tutor, you will:
- Deliver personalised sessions tailored to the learner's needs.
- Provide consistent and supportive mentoring to help build emotional resilience and self-confidence.
- Develop and implement a Personalised Communication Plan using preferred signals (e.g., hand gestures, cards, emojis, words).
- Practice communication strategies in calm situations to build familiarity and trust.

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people
- Experience of working with learners with SEN
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
- Hold right to work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide references upon request
- Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
