Lead Commercial Success Across High-Impact Projects

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor ready to take the lead on complex, high-value projects? Join us as a Senior Quantity Surveyor and become a key commercial voice in the successful delivery of industry-leading infrastructure and construction works.

Working closely with Project Directors and the wider commercial team, you will manage contractual obligations, monitor cost performance, and drive value throughout the lifecycle of the project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the effective and accurate issue of contractual notices, correspondence, and documentation

  • Identify and communicate contractual and commercial risks and opportunities to Project Directors

  • Maintain detailed records of variations, delays, claims, and extensions of time

  • Assist with monthly progress valuations and claims for completed work

  • Engage with client and employer commercial teams

  • Support pre-contract tender negotiations and reporting

  • Prepare monthly cost reports, forecasts, and contract budget updates

  • Advise on risk and value management strategies

  • Prepare, review, and finalise sub-contract documentation and final accounts

  • Oversee change management and cost control throughout the project

  • Manage subcontractor procurement, commercial comparisons, and requisition letters

  • Reconcile plant, materials, and labour costs against budgets

  • Monitor the main contract, including change reports and value assessments

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Minimum 5 years commercial experience with exposure to relevant sectors (e.g., infrastructure, civil engineering, construction)

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent discipline

  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, change management, and project controls

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Proven track record in delivering commercial reporting and cost forecasting

Desirable:

  • 10+ years experience within the sector

  • Familiarity with NEC/JCT contracts

  • Chartered status (MRICS) or working towards
