Senior Site Manager Residential House Builder
Location: Burgess Hill, West Sussex
Project: 250-unit Timber Frame Housing Scheme
About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Site Manager to lead the delivery of a 250-unit timber frame residential development in Burgess Hill. This is a flagship project for an established and growing house builder with a strong reputation for quality and delivery.
As Senior Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the site, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all on-site construction activities from groundwork through to completion
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams
- Drive programme delivery and maintain project timelines
- Ensure strict compliance with health & safety regulations and company policies
- Maintain high quality standards in line with NHBC requirements and company expectations
- Lead, motivate, and develop site management staff and operatives
- Conduct regular progress meetings and report to senior management
- Manage site logistics, sequencing, and material coordination (with particular focus on timber frame installation)
- Liaise with technical teams, commercial teams, and local authorities where required
About You
- Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager within residential housebuilding
- Demonstrable experience delivering multi-unit housing developments (200+ units preferred)
- Strong knowledge and experience of timber frame construction
- Excellent leadership and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple phases of construction simultaneously
- Strong understanding of NHBC standards and UK building regulations
- SMSTS, CSCS (Black Card), and First Aid qualified
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with attention to detail
