Chichester College Group have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Specialist Technician Engineering at our Crawley College campus. You will join us on full time, 1 year fixed contract. In return, we will offer a competitive salary of £25,582 - £25,683 per annum.
The Specialist Technician Engineering role:
A unique opportunity to contribute to teaching and learning within our new Institute of Technology and Construction Hub.
As our Specialist Technician, you will be involved in the setup, maintenance and stock control of practical workshops in engineering and construction. The position, working alongside an outstanding teaching team, will play a key role in creating exceptional learning environments that support outstanding teaching and learning. There will be opportunities for training on new equipment and developing new working practices as the area grows to meet the employment and skills needs of the future.
As our Specialist Technician, you will possess a solid technical understanding and be proficient with hand tools and basic machinery.
Working Pattern:
Monday-Thursday 08:30-17:00
Key Responsibilities of our Specialist Technician Engineering
- Undertaking administration related to course requirements and provide reports and statistics as required.
- Participating in marketing activities and promote the College for the purpose of gaining sponsorship, advertising, good public relations and increased recruitment.
- Liaising with Additional Support in specific cases to ensure students get appropriate support.
- Participating in curriculum area, College, employer/parent functions, reviews, meetings and promotional activities, as required.
- Organising daily activities within the learning environment, including the preparation and maintainance of resources, services and housekeeping.
- Providing assistance to individuals or groups of students within the learning environment.
- Implementing and maintaining the regulations of the Health and Safety at Work Act and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health legislation, including the reviews of health and safety policies and procedures in the workplace and undertake risk assessments.
- Participating in course review activities and the generation and implementation of new resources and action plans.
Our ideal Specialist Technician Engineering should have the following skills and experience:
- Level 2 qualification in the relevant subject area
- Relevant Engineering experience
- Experience following/applying Health and Safety procedures
- Competency in using the relevant tools/equipment
