STORES OPERATIVE / WAREHOUSE ASSISTANT
Location: RH20 area
Hours: Monday Friday, 8:30am 5:00pm
Pay: £12.50 £13.00 per hour

We re recruiting for a motivated and dependable Stores Operative / Warehouse Assistant to join our clients team. This is a hands-on, physical role within a warehouse that supports precision manufacturing and assembly operations. The position offers genuine progression opportunities for someone looking to build a long-term career in a growing business.
The Role
You ll be responsible for the smooth running of the warehouse and materials flow, supporting both goods in/out and production supply. Day-to-day tasks will include:
- Managing goods in, including booking deliveries, checking paperwork and inspecting parts for damage or discrepancies
- Preparing goods out for dispatch, packaging, labelling and arranging transport collections
- Using Counterbalance forklift trucks, electric pallet trucks and stackers to move materials safely and efficiently
- Maintaining accurate stock control, updating records in the company s inventory system
- Issuing components and materials to production and assembly teams as required
- Organising and maintaining the warehouse layout to ensure clear and efficient storage
- Conducting stock checks and reporting shortages or damaged goods to the Stores Supervisor
- Ensuring all deliveries are processed promptly and correctly labelled for traceability
- Following all health and safety procedures, maintaining a tidy and hazard-free environment
About You
- Previous experience in a warehouse, stores or logistics environment
- Valid Counterbalance licence preferred (in-house or external)
- Confident using basic IT systems and updating stock records accurately
- Excellent attention to detail and good organisational skills
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling and heavy lifting
- Strong communication skills and a team player who supports colleagues when needed
- Reliable, proactive and takes pride in maintaining high standards of work
