Teaching Assistant

Location: Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex
Salary: £95-£110 per day
Job Type: Temporary, 5 days a week to start ASAP

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist education setting, working as part of a small class team to provide personalised support to pupils and students.

The provision caters for children and young people aged 5-19 with speech, language and communication needs, learning difficulties, and a range of associated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping pupils achieve their individual learning, social and emotional development goals within a supportive and nurturing environment.

The Role

• Support pupils individually and in small groups to access learning and achieve their full potential.
• Assist with the delivery of tailored learning and behaviour support programmes.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and positive engagement in learning.
• Support the emotional, physical, and personal care needs of pupils where required.
• Help create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues.
• Assist with classroom preparation, learning resources, and administrative tasks.
• Follow safeguarding, child protection, health and safety, and school policies at all times.

Requirements

• Experience working in an education, residential, or SEND setting.
• Knowledge of speech, language and communication needs.
