Job Role: Warehouse Operative
Location: Crawley, West Sussex
This role is a 12-hour shift, 7am -7pm on a four days on four days off working pattern.
Pay: £28,000.00-£31,000.00 per year
Role Summary
Working as part of the Warehouse Operations team, this role includes the full range of warehouse disciplines including receiving and inspecting deliveries, organising and storing goods, picking and packing orders, maintaining inventory records, and performing quality checks to ensure products meet Aerospace Industry standards.
This role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, physical stamina for manual handling, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Full training in each area will be received in line with our standard operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Receiving & Inspection: Receiving shipments of aircraft components, verify part numbers and aerospace paperwork against shipping documents, and inspect goods for damage or defects.
- Stock Management: Sort, organise, and correctly store materials and products in designated warehouse locations, ensuring proper storage conditions are met for different items.
- Inventory Control: Maintain accurate inventory records using AvSight, our ERP software, to track all inbound and outbound goods.
- Order Fulfilment: Pick items from the warehouse to fulfil customer orders, carefully packaging them for dispatch and preparing all necessary shipping documentation.
- Quality Assurance: Perform quality control checks on incoming and outgoing products to ensure they meet required standards and specifications, identifying and reporting any issues.
- Liaise effectively with customers, vendors, freight forwarders and courier companies as required.
- Warehouse Maintenance: Clean and maintain the warehouse environment to ensure it is safe and organised.
- Participate in improvement activities at department/company level to enhance business performance.
- Comply with all relevant internal rules, policy and procedures, including those relating to Environment, Health and Safety (EHS), Data Protection and all those contained in Employee Policies and Procedures.
- Undertake other duties and tasks that may be allocated that are reasonable and appropriate to the job.

Skills and Qualities
- Attention to Detail: Essential for inspecting goods, checking paperwork, and maintaining accurate inventory.
- Organisation: Needed to systematically sort and store items, and to maintain organised records and work areas.
- Physical Fitness: The role involves manual handling, including lifting, bending, stretching, and stooping, requiring moderate physical fitness and good mobility.
- Teamwork: The ability to work effectively with colleagues to achieve business targets.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer skills and familiarity with warehouse management software. Barcode scanner knowledge would be advantageous.
- Problem-Solving: The ability to identify and address issues with shipments or stock.
- A full clean UK Driving licence is desirable but not essential.
