Senior Quantity Surveyor To £78k + Bens Eastbourne Solution is proud to be working exclusively with this leading national civil engineering contractor who holds a reputation for being dynamic, innovative and focused with a fun culture. Due to continued success, they are now seeking to secure the services of a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in the Southern Region initially working on a large critical infrastructure scheme near Eastbourne in East Sussex . The programme is about 18 months long and the project commences in early 2026. The scheme involves highways and bridge construction works. Main Duties of the Senior Quantity Surveyor: <ul> <li>Support and mentoring of junior staff.</li> <li>Maximise profitability on contracts.</li> <li>Monitoring contract costs against budgets.</li> <li>Identifying potential risks and evaluate options for control.</li> <li>Preparation of estimates.</li> <li>Procurement of sub-contractors, including preparation of subcontract documents.</li> <li>Assessment and certification of interim and final payments to subcontractors.</li> <li>Preparation and agreeing main contract variations.</li> <li>Assist in the preparation of documents for resolution of disputes (adjudications / arbitrations and the like).</li> <li>Ensure all work complies with quality, safety and environmental policies and the requirements of the company procedure.</li> </ul> Must haves: <ul> <li>Ambitious individual with great communication skills, who is confident with a flexible approach.</li> <li>Demonstrate innovative approaches to problem solving and the ability to negotiate across the various levels of any construction environment.</li> <li>Handle the financial and mathematical demands of the role by possessing impressive numeracy and IT skills.</li> <li>Must have experience working on civil engineering schemes with a main contractor.</li> <li>Experience as a SQS working with the NEC form of contract.</li> </ul> Due to this being a regional based role, the successful candidate must be ok to travel and have a full UK driving license.
