Full Time September 2026 Start East Sussex

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs? Do you have experience supporting students with additional needs and want to be part of a dedicated and supportive team?

Academics are currently recruiting for a Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Special School in East Sussex from September 2026.

This rewarding role involves supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH, and complex learning needs. You'll work closely with experienced teachers and therapists to help pupils reach their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.



The Role:

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday
  • September 2026 start
  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Assisting with learning, communication, emotional regulation, and personal development
  • Working as part of a caring and experienced SEN team


Requirements:

  • A minimum of 6 months' experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs
  • A patient, caring and resilient approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK
