Fixed Term Contract Until December 2026 Flexible Working Days

Teamjobs are recruiting for an experienced EHS Coordinator to support a busy manufacturing facility in Eastbourne.

This is an excellent opportunity for an EHS professional with experience maintaining ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management systems, supporting compliance activities, and driving continuous improvement within a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment.

Working closely with site management, you will play a key role in maintaining health, safety, and environmental standards while supporting day-to-day EHS activities across the site.

The Role

You will be responsible for supporting the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the site's Environmental, Health & Safety systems, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting and maintaining ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
  • Reviewing, updating, and developing EHS procedures, policies, and work instructions
  • Conducting workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments
  • Supporting accident, incident, and near-miss investigations
  • Monitoring corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintaining EHS records, reports, and compliance documentation
  • Supporting employee training, toolbox talks, and awareness programmes
  • Assisting with internal and external audits
  • Monitoring changes in EHS legislation and supporting compliance activities
  • Providing practical EHS advice to managers and employees across the site
  • Supporting environmental compliance, waste management, and sustainability initiatives

About You

We are looking for a proactive and organised EHS professional who enjoys a varied role combining management systems, compliance, documentation, and operational health and safety activities.

You must have:

  • Experience working within an Environmental, Health & Safety role in a manufacturing, engineering, industrial, or similar environment
  • Experience supporting or maintaining ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management systems
  • IOSH Managing Safely qualification (essential)
  • Experience writing, reviewing, and updating procedures, processes, and work instructions
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, inspections, and incident investigations
  • Strong administrative and document control skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

Desirable

  • NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent EHS qualification
  • Experience supporting external audits and regulatory inspections
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance requirements

What's on Offer

  • Part-time position offering flexibility around working days
  • Opportunity to work within an established manufacturing environment
  • Varied role covering both management systems and practical EHS activities
  • Collaborative team environment
  • Fixed-term contract through to December 2026 with potential for extension

The offer is subject to full BPSS Screening ( Baseline Personnel Security Standard), including proof of Legal Right to Work, Criminal Records Check, and Drugs Screening.

If you have experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 systems, enjoy supporting continuous improvement, and are looking for a flexible part-time EHS opportunity, we'd like to hear from you.
