This Aspiring Child Counsellor / Learning Support Assistant (LSA) role in Haywards Heath is ideal for graduates seeking experience before progressing into careers such as Child Counselling, Clinical Psychology, Educational Psychology, or Mental Health Support.

You will work closely with experienced staff and therapists to support pupils' emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and access to learning.

Key Responsibilities for an Aspiring Child Counsellor / LSA

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
• Support emotional regulation, behaviour, and social development
• Assist in implementing individual learning and care plans
• Observe, monitor, and report on student progress and wellbeing
• Help create a safe, nurturing, and structured environment
• Provide personal care where required

What We're Looking For

• A degree in Psychology, Criminology, Sociology, or a related field
• A genuine interest in child development, mental health, or therapy
• Empathy, patience, and resilience
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A proactive and reflective attitude
• Experience with children or vulnerable individuals (desirable but not essential)
• Able to commute to Haywards Heath
