Ref: PXPRE Location: Hastings (TN34) Hours: Monday to Friday 9am-4.30pm Pay: £29.94ph paid weekly via umbrella Duration: Ongoing Contract Long Term/Temp to Perm Duties Technical Repairs Surveyors will be responsible for overseeing individual caseloads consisting of live disrepair claims (including damp and associated repairs), party wall awards, repair diagnostic cases, referrals from repairs teams / health and safety and environmental teams. Surveyors will also be required to undertake training and act in an advisory capacity for colleagues across the business and will from time to time be required to give expert evidence in court. You will be required to deal with all technical aspects of cases received by the team effectively and efficiently. To carry out and coordinate essential repairs, avoid liability from legal disrepair action whenever possible; alternatively, where this is not possible ensure claims are effectively mitigated. Liaise closely and establish good working relationships with all key stakeholders. Planning your workload is key as will be your skill and experience in identifying any defects. You will ensure that work is added to the relevant data base and conduct post remediation inspections to close out those actions. Access to customer properties is an essential and challenging part of the role and requires a flexible approach, which could require some flexibility within your working day, in order to survey a customer s requests / concerns at a time which is suitable for the customer. Job Purpose You will work as an integral part of the Design and Planning team based in Forest Row, East Sussex. This team is responsible for optimising land development opportunities and undertaking the full architectural design process for new-build residential schemes. As Architectural Designer you will be involved in producing layouts and house design drawings using CAD software and manual drawing techniques. You will have the creativity to shape innovative and unique designs whilst ensuring that all layouts and drawings are compliant with industry codes and legal standards. You will be communicating with external consultants who support the application design process, prepare technical reports and Design and Access Statements (DAS) to support planning applications. Together, with the preparation of presentation material to Parish Councils and other Stakeholder organisations for public exhibitions and pre application meetings. You will be seeing the design development process through to the compilation of packages for submission of residential development application proposals to Local Planning Authorities. You will work closely with all members of the Design and Planning team and you will be involved with all stages of the design process from pre planning through to the submission of applications and ultimate decision by the Local Planning Authority. Working closely with the In house Architect you will develop presentation material, drawing by hand and in electronic media, for layouts, house designs, street scenes and brochures amongst other documents. You will be a highly creative individual with good spatial design awareness with previous experience working with a residential developer (housebuilder) and/or architectural team. You will have the ability to prepare architectural drawings, by hand and electronically in AutoCAD and Photoshop and/or InDesign. Some 3D modelling experience would also be beneficial. In addition, you will have excellent knowledge of planning policy including supplementary planning documents (SPD), such as inclusive design and access, along with a good understanding of building regulations and other regulatory requirements.
