Contract Type Permanent About the role Brighton &amp; Sussex Medical School is seeking to appoint a practicing GP as Associate Professor or Professor of General Practice to complement the current research strengths in the Department of Primary Care &amp; Public Health at BSMS. Associate Professor and upward are senior career-grade teaching and research positions and are expected to show academic leadership in both teaching and research, and to support the management and strategic planning processes of the School and the University. About you The postholder will lead their own programme of research and we especially welcome candidates with research interests linked to key strengths at BSMS including the areas of global health/infection, cancer and mental health as well as our cross-cutting themes in health inequalities, population health/prevention and the health of coastal communities. The successful candidate will undertake research within the department, contribute to research leadership and research-led undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Working with BSMS GP colleagues, as well as across our NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) regions of Kent, Surrey &amp; Sussex they will support colleagues to engage with research in primary care.
