Job Description As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will: <ul> <li>Develop next-generation avionics systems, focusing on mechanical aspects</li> <li>Analyse requirements, design, implement, and verify mechanical sub-assemblies and components</li> <li>Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior mechanical engineers</li> <li>Contribute to conceptual designs for Avionics platforms and ensure design assurance needs are met within time and budget constraints</li> <li>Produce detailed CAD (Creo Parametric) design layouts, manufacturing drawings, and manage configuration including complete BoM generation</li> <li>Choose material forming solutions suitable for component duty and quantity</li> <li>Perform and report on Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using Creo Simulate and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) using Flotherm XT</li> <li>Support project estimating, manage work to meet cost estimates and schedules, and participate in internal, customer, and supplier meetings</li> <li>Conduct investigations, develop solutions, and write technical reports</li> <li>Assist with other engineering duties (e.g., testing, experimentation, modelling) as workload demands</li> </ul> Click here for the full job description Qualifications To be successful in this role you should have: <ul> <li>Significant experience in mechanical design, particularly in avionics systems</li> <li>Degree level education in Mechanical Engineering</li> <li>Proficiency in CAD software, specifically Creo Parametric</li> <li>Knowledge of BS8888 standards for technical product documentation and specification</li> <li>Ability to perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using Creo Simulate</li> <li>Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) using Flotherm XT</li> <li>Strong leadership and mentoring skills</li> <li>Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities</li> <li>Effective communication skills, both written and verbal</li> </ul> Additional Information This role has a starting salary of between 45,600 and 57,000 plus our flexible benefits package.
