Principal Accountabilities: Technical Leadership<ul><li>Guide the architecture for backend, frontend, and mobile systems</li><li>Define coding standards, design patterns, and best practices</li><li>Guide feasibility studies and prototyping of features</li><li>Review code for security, correctness, and maintainability</li><li>Lead team of platform and mobile developers, guiding best practices and skill growth</li><li>Perform 121s and reviews to guide/instruct and elevate concerns to CTO where necessary.</li><li>Conduct annual review processes</li><li>Lead recruitment to ensure desired competencies within the team</li><li>Estimate timelines, identify risks, and communicate status</li><li>Break down product requirements into tasks and technical designs</li><li>Work with dev and QA to manage sprint and release cycles utilising Jira</li><li>Pair with developers on complex features and provide ongoing feedback</li><li>Ensure adequate, shared support for technical support escalations</li></ul> Hands-on Development <ul><li>Write and maintain code, especially the complex or critical parts of the system</li><li>Prototype solutions, test feasibility before committing the team</li><li>Debug and troubleshoot, handle challenging technical issues</li><li>Provide escalated development support when lower levels are exhausted</li></ul> Quality &amp; Testing Oversight <ul><li>Collaborate with QA to ensure comprehensive test coverage and validation</li><li>Help ensure traceability between requirements, implementation, and tests</li><li>Support automated testing frameworks and CI/CD processes</li></ul> Delivery &amp; Release Management <ul><li>Collaborate with QA to ensure release preparedness</li><li>Execute controlled releases during appropriate release windows</li><li>Execute release validation processes where required</li><li>Oversee operational readiness, monitoring, and post-release incident handling</li></ul> Security &amp; Privacy <ul><li>Enforce software secure-by-design and privacy-by-design principles</li><li>Implement and validate security controls across the product suite</li><li>Maintain threat models, data flow diagrams, and security documentation</li><li>Provide support for annual security regulatory submissions (DSPT, CE+, Pen Test)</li></ul> Clinical &amp; Regulatory Alignment <ul><li>Ensure developed software complies with relevant standards</li><li>Respond to questions to support clinical/regulatory audits/submissions and quality management processes</li><li>Participate in risk management and hazard mitigation activities relating to developed software</li></ul>Essential Skills and experience:<ul><li>Hands on experience in related software languages/frameworks (Java, SpringBoot)</li><li>Experience with mobile app development (ideally Android, iOS, React Native)</li><li>Experience with cloud hosting solutions (ideally AWS)</li><li>Experience with IaaS (ideally Terraform)</li><li>Experience with configuration management solutions (ideally Ansible)</li><li>Solid understanding of software development principles and practices</li><li>Good task and project management abilities</li><li>Capacity to plan, prioritise, and delegate tasks appropriately</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills</li><li>Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders</li><li>Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail</li><li>Ability to work independently, prioritise workload, and meet project deadlines</li><li>People leadership experience at Senior or Lead level</li></ul> Desirable Skills and experience: <ul><li>Experience in a development team lead role</li><li>Health care knowledge and experience in a healthcare-related industry</li></ul>
