About the role What you'll do<ul><li>Lead on water safety and legionella compliance across a large and varied property portfolio (350+ active buildings and 1,000+ passive sites).</li><li>Develop and implement proactive risk management programmes to eliminate or reduce risks.</li><li>You will hold delegated authority as the 'Responsible Person' and act as the subject matter expert for the management and control of legionella bacteria providing advice to internal and external stakeholders on the delivery of the Council's legal mandate.</li><li>Collaborate with contractors, building users, and colleagues to deliver value-for-money solutions in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Monitor statutory testing, audits, and KPIs to ensure total building compliance.</li><li>Drive a positive safety culture and continuous improvement mindset across the organisation.</li></ul>What we're looking for<ul><li>Strong background in building compliance and contractor management.</li><li>In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation, water systems, and statutory testing.</li><li>Experience managing building services across a large, diverse property portfolio.</li><li>Excellent communication and project management skills to deliver timely solutions.</li><li>Ability to prioritise a busy workload, work under pressure, and develop efficient processes.</li><li>Work on a unique and diverse portfolio-from schools and civic buildings to memorials and fountains.</li><li>Be part of a friendly, collaborative team within the wider Property &amp; Design directorate, alongside experts in Estates, Architecture, Energy, and Capital Strategy.</li><li>Enjoy flexible working arrangements, including site visits and some home working.</li><li>Make a visible difference to the safety and wellbeing of thousands of building users across the city.</li></ul>Please read our Apply for a job at the council pages carefully.
