Freight Forwarder
Location: Shoreham-by-Sea
Salary: Up to 35,000 per annum

A well-established freight forwarding company in Shoreham-by-Sea is looking for an experienced Freight Forwarder to join their growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in import, export, road, sea or air freight who wants to develop their career with a supportive and professional logistics business.
You will be responsible for managing shipments from start to finish, liaising with customers, suppliers, carriers and overseas agents to ensure freight moves smoothly and efficiently.
Freight Forwarder Job Overview
As a Freight Forwarder, you will be handling day-to-day freight operations, providing excellent customer service and ensuring all shipments are completed accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage import and export shipments from booking through to delivery
- Liaise with customers, hauliers, shipping lines, airlines and overseas agents
- Prepare and check freight documentation
- Arrange collections, deliveries and customs clearance where required
- Provide accurate quotations and shipment updates to customers
- Monitor shipment progress and resolve any operational issues
- Ensure all files are completed accurately and in line with company procedures
- Maintain strong customer relationships and deliver a high level of service
Requirements
- Previous experience in freight forwarding or logistics
- Knowledge of import, export, road, sea or air freight operations
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Good attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple shipments
- Confident using freight systems, email and Microsoft Office
- Able to work well under pressure in a busy operational environment
- Customs knowledge would be advantageous but is not essential
